It’s an episode of Suspense this week that first aired December 1, 1949. Mission Completed stars Jimmy Stewart as an ex-prisoner of war badly wounded in a prison camp. As he recovers in the hospital, he’s convinced he has seen the commander of the camp running a flower shop. He decides action must be taken… But this story is more than just a tale of revenge.

File016: Prisoner Of The Japanese

We’re back this week with another episode from Words At War. This episode originally aired August 7, 1943.

I hope we all keep in mind that many of the shows here were recorded during, or shortly after the war. As such the portrayals of German, and in this case Japanese, people were less than flattering. The voice acting in some of these shows sounds comical, though the subject matter certainly was not. I’ve been meaning to mention this for some time, but I hope I’m stating the obvious. It’s not my desire to offend anyone!
